Scott McCarthy

P. Eng - Natural Gas - Texas A&I University

Mr. McCarthy is an accomplished energy executive with extensive experience leading upstream operations, building high-performance engineering teams, and guiding companies through strategic growth and successful asset divestitures.

He currently brings his deep technical and operational expertise to Saglio Resources. Scott began his career in senior engineering positions with both operators and service companies, gaining hands-on experience across most major U.S. basins as well as the Gulf of Mexico shelf and deepwater.

Prior to joining Saglio, Mr. McCarthy served as a Senior Advisor at Post Oak Energy Capital, where he evaluated potential investment opportunities and conducted technical and operational due diligence on both new and existing management teams. He also contributed to the firm’s fundraising efforts for Post Oak Energy Partners Fund V.

Before his advisory role, Mr. McCarthy was the CEO of PetroEdge Energy IV, a Post Oak–sponsored portfolio company, where he oversaw the development and management of Eagle Ford assets. He also managed Eagle Ford operations for two additional Post Oak portfolio companies. Collectively, he and his team managed more than 60,000 acres, optimized production, and implemented a successful EOR project in the oil window, culminating in the divestiture of all three assets in 2021.

Earlier in his career, Mr. McCarthy held several key leadership and engineering roles, including Director of Engineering for Calfrac Well Services—where he elevated technical capabilities and built a world-class engineering team—COO for a private E&P company operating across Texas and Mississippi, and VP of Production for a South Texas gas producer, where he completed more than 500 horizontal Eagle Ford and Escondido wells.
